VANCOUVER DESI
One of the newest dental clinics to open its doors in Vancouver is showing the trendy new way professionals are providing health care based on state of the art technology.
From X-ray file sharing online to a paperless filing system to technology to shine up teeth, the dental industry has come a long ways since waiting for X-ray photos to print and those clunky metal braces!
1. X-rays: gone are the days when dental clinics would take pictures of your teeth and have to wait for the prints to develop. Also
gone are the days where different offices had to mail the film to each other to share patient files. Now – everything is online. Photo less files, no developing time and easy as email sharing systems that also allow dentists to share notes on patients and their procedures. Even better x ray machines these days also have almost 90% less radiation than before.
X-rays have also gone in the 3D direction. Instead of multiple images, x-ray machines are capable of taking and showing panoramic images in high digital quality.
2. Cancers of the mouth and technology. The VELscope Vx is the most powerful tool available for assisting in the
discovery of oral abnormalities such as cancer. This tech tool is based on blue-spectrum light which causes the soft tissues of the mouth to naturally fluoresce. Healthy tissues fluoresce in distinctive patterns — patterns that are visibly disrupted by trauma or disease. Using the VELscope, a wide variety of oral abnormalities can be discovered — often before they’re visible to the unassisted eye. What is this doing? Early detection of one of the biggest growing kinds of cancer – cancers of the mouth. This technology also means no unpleasant rinses or stains and the best part is that entire exam takes about two minutes.
This technology is so amazing in the medical world – even Dr. Oz talked about it on his show.
3. Shine bright like a diamond in about 15 to 20 minutes. Laser teeth whitening technology known as Spa Dent is a light activated system that uses SD-800 Blue and Red LED light is the ultimate whitening “accelerating” device. With little or no harm or any discomfort to the patient, the system operates within two narrow band nanometer ranges. One in the blue light spectrum and the other in the red light spectrum. Certain wavelengths of blue light energy activate the peroxide in a gel formula that helps accelerate whitening. The red light has been shown by NASA to be effective for healing!
4. Where’s the paper? Medical or dental clinics are known to have shelves filled with files and lots of booking and billing procedures. Not at the new clinics like Cambie Village Dental. Everything is paperless and inputting, saved and backed up in computers and hard drives. They even time stamp and sign documents and prescriptions and send them to the pharmacy for example.
