Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon features an intense, limits of reality-stretching love story. Colourstv.in
Hate ends in love, or maybe love ends in hate. Romance novels have charted this cycle for eons. But the hatred that RK (Vivian Dsena) feels for Madhubala (Drashti Dhami) is beyond the limits of realism.
Today RK had to pay an emotional price for treating Madhu like a server at a party in his own house and humiliating her terribly. His mother reminded him of his father’s suicide and clearly said that if he were alive, he would have died now by suicide watching RK’s behavior towards Madhu. That was a brutal strike on his weak spot, RK’s relationship with his father and his desire to keep his memories private.
So RK broke down and almost would have apologized if Madhubala was still at home to listen to him. In the bargain, he traced her, saved her life and actually let her sleep the whole night on his shoulder in a studio where they got stuck due to a rainstorm.
Mysteriously, the newspapers remaining from a bunch RK used to light a fire held photographs of the father-son, part of his very private life. This triggered another bout of anger but RK finally told Madhu that the pictures were photographed just a couple of hours before his father’s death.
Madhu, the emotional and kind girl that she is, is already softening towards RK and is ready to sympathize with him but does he want her pity? He is too proud and egotistical to even accept he needs another human being or care of any sort.
The chemistry, tit-for-tat actions and reaction, and the constant attempt to out-last each other has set Madhubala and RK apart from the conventional couple. When (I do not say ‘if ‘because they have to fall in love and I want them to) they fall in love, it will be the other extreme of passion and romance.
But that is not happening for a long time.
