Mumbai, Feb 27 (IANS) The team of David Dhawan’s version of “Chashme Buddoor” recently met veteran actor Farooque Sheikh, who had acted in the original in 1981.
Actors Ali Zafar, Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma and Taapsee Pannu, were at a suburban hotel here along with Dhawan, and sipping some coffee while discussing about the film’s music launch.
Post the coffee, everyone was about to leave and retire for the day, but while leaving the hotel, they suddenly bumped into Farooque.
“David and Farooque, who have been friends, greeted each other and the former introduced Ali, Siddharth and Divyendu to him. Farooque seemed delighted and was seen exchanging pleasantries and wishing the youngsters all the best for the film,” said a source.
In the original “Chashme Buddoor”, actors Ravi Baswani and Rakesh Bedi played the other two friends.
“On hearing that Ali has reprised his role from the film, Farooque gave him his good wishes and blessings,” the source added.
Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, “Chashme Baddoor” hits theatres April 5.
