Madhoo lacks courage to get into direction

Mumbai, Dec 12 (IANS) Veteran actress Madhoo is keen on donning the director’s hat but says she lacks courage to take her dream ahead.

“I would honestly say, may be it is on my mind, but I didn’t have the courage to go ahead with direction. My friends keep telling me, first fulfill your passion of being an actor. I have some nice ideas and with god’s blessings I want to take it ahead,” Madhoo told IANS.

“I have not started the real work yet, nothing is on paper right now but it’s my dream and I plan to direct a nice film,” she added.

The actress, who is known for memorable roles in “Roja”, “Diljale” and “Phool Aur Kaante”, feels once she does some more films, she might be able to look at the whole business in a different way.

“If I get a good role and start going on sets again, I will look at this whole business differently. Then I would look for people with creative thought and want to get some help from creative people to take my direction plans ahead,” she said.

Madhoo, who is the niece of Hema Malini, calls the yesteryear diva her inspiration.

“For me, Hema Malini is my inspiration. Hema has always told me one thing don’t plan anything in life. She never planned to turn director or get into politics but things happened. She said just jump into the swimming pool and you will find a way for yourself,” she added.
