Mumbai, Jan 27 (IANS) After struggling for nine years, Jasraj Joshi made it big by winning “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012” and now he wants to establish himself as a playback singer in filmdom – and is keen to lend his voice to actors like Ranbir Kapoor.
“I am very happy that the four-month journey ended on a positive note. I never expected that I will win the show as all the other three contestants were good,” Jasraj told IANS.
“I want to sing for Ranbir Kapoor and Abhay Deol. Both of them are my favourites,” added the singer, who won the winner’s trophy, one-year contract with Zee TV and a bike.
However, the Pune-based singer admits that the journey was not easy.
“It has been eight-nine years since I have been trying to get an entry into the music industry. I tried several times, used to clear two-three rounds of auditions, but never got success. Later, I did some local shows and that experience helped me and I got lucky this time,” he said.
The 29-year-old is looking forward to happy and successful times ahead.
“I want to get an entry into the music industry and establish myself as a playback singer,” he said and added that he won’t have financial woes at least for a year.
He got training in classical music from his maternal grandfather and always dreamt to be a classical singer.
“But when I went to college, my interest shifted from classical to fusion,” he added.
Jasraj, married to his college sweetheart for the past three years, is looking forward to go home and celebrate his win with his family.
