For all my excitement about Ram (Ram Kapoor) and Priya (Saakshi Tanwar) meeting in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain last week, I thought love would blossom. But the story would have to end with a ‘happily ever after’ and I should not be expecting a climax from a Desi soap yet, should I?
Priya has kept Ram away from their daughter Peehu (Amrita Mukherjee) for five years and now he seems equally inclined to keep Priya away from her. Where is the clear-thinking, romantic and mature Ram?
How would you react if you discover that you have a child? That too after five years? Anyone will be mad but how far can you go?
Love, trust, betrayal, pain – paradoxes will lead nowhere. The sad thing is, when emotions are in overdrive, logic tends to take a backseat.
Rajat Kapur (Samir Kochhar) with a ‘U’, is there for Priya, to support her in Peehu’s custody battle against Ram. He is in love with Priya even though he know she will never be a part of his life. More importantly, will Priya really fight? What do you think?
On the other hand, Ayesha Kapoor (Chahat Khanna), Priya’s sister and Ram’s second wife, is just waiting to pounce on a chance to make Ram forget Priya and accept her. But the real interest is money, glamour and fame that she can have as Mrs. Ayesha Ram Kapoor. To have a heroine, we need a vamp, don’t we.
I may be skeptical about a real-life ‘happy ending’ in such a situation if there ever can be one but hey, we are talking about reel-life!
