Pyongyang is the capital of North Korea. Submitted photo/Google Maps
North Korea is ready for its closeup, claims a media report.
Google has managed to compile maps and info on the secretive country’s key geographical landmarks, reports The Sun newspaper in England.
The Internet giant crafted the data on the nation ruled since 2011 by Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un using its Map Maker tool.
Prior, Google Maps’ information on North Korea was scarce. But due to recent developments roadways, monuments, and even prison labour camps known as gulags now can be located online.
Map Maker senior product manager Jayanth Mysore said the new maps are especially vital for citizens of South Korea who have ancestral connections to their northern neighbour or even still have family living there.
