Seoul, Nov 29 (IANS) South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Thursday rolled out Galaxy Camera based on the Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, enabling users to upload pictures directly through the high−speed fourth−generation (4G) network.
The Galaxy Camera will be directly connected to Wi−Fi and third−generation (3G) network as well as the 4G LTE network, which will enable users to upload pictures on social media, including Twitter and Facebook, through the wireless networks right after taking them, reported Xinhua.
Powered by 4.1 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android operating system, the Galaxy Camera came with a 4.8−inch touch screen and a 16.3 megapixel back side illumination (BSI) CMOS sensor, Samsung said.
“The Galaxy Camera incorporated telecommunication function into a camera for the first time in the world. It will open a new chapter in the digital camera industry,” Shin Jong−kyun, head of Samsung’s mobile business, told reporters at the launch event held in its Seoul headquarters.
