Agra, Jan 27 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh will invest in product specific industrial infrastructure and set up national manufacturing investment zones that would create employment and boost growth, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said Sunday.
“We need a thriving manufacturing sector which can provide alternative employment and will help in removing regional imbalance. Therefore, we will invest in product specific industrial infrastructure and set up national manufacturing investment zones,” he said at the inaugural function of the partnership summit here.
The 19th edition of the partnership summit, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the federal ministry of commerce and industry and Uttar Pradesh government, was inaugurated by Vice President Hamid Ansari.
Akhilesh Yadav said the Uttar Pradesh government would create an enabling policy regime to attract investment.
“My government is committed to bring about a fundamental change in state’s economic structure,” he said, calling the event “a Maha Kumbh of industrial leaders”.
Showcasing the opportunities in the state, he invited the industrialists to benefit from the new opportunities.
