Fitness Is Free: When it comes to running around, if it feels right, do it

There are many myths about running, and its pros and cons.

Running is bad for your knees —or is it good? What about your back, feet and hips?

The only rule of thumb should be if it feels right, do it.

Walking at a good pace to keep your heart pumping for 30 to 45 minutes daily is always a great alternative to running.

In any case, I had to share this poster I found recently.

Maybe join a running clinic or even the walking events for your local marathon.  The Vancouver Sun Run and Surrey International Marathon this year both have great running/walking communities and support systems in place.

And always check with your doctor first before taking on new physical activites and share your stories with us!
