Fujairah, Dec 23 (IANS/WAM) A total of 52 people from the UAE tied the knot at a mass wedding ceremony held in Fujairah.
The mass wedding, the 13th to be held in the emirate, was organised by the Marriage Fund in cooperation with Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Fujairah Free Zone.
Obaid Al-Yamahi, head of the organising committee, said mass weddings keep the youth away from loans and debts and preserve social cohesion and values at a time when marriage requires a large amount of dowry and an expensive wedding party.
The wedding was attended by Fujairah crown prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi and other officials.
