‘Dreamland’ carnival begins in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, Nov 23 (IANS) The annual Chandigarh Carnival began here Friday, as a colourful parade wound its way through some parts of the city.
A carnival village on the theme ‘Dreamland’, conceptualised by students of the Government College of Art here, has sprung up.
Floats have been mounted on rickshaws, and there are sea horses, fairies, eagles and mermaids on display, at Sector 10 Leisure Valley.
The carnival is set to continue until Sunday, and will see hundreds of visitors.
On Friday, the festivities included performances by a cultural troupe and a vintage car exhibition.
