Kalki Koechlin’s ‘It’s Your Fault’ video on rape goes viral

Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin takes a dig at the society and public figures on some controversial comments about rape and sexual abuse in this satirical video that has gone viral within days of it’s YouTube launch. ‘It’s your fault’ has already crossed 1.3 million hits within 6 days.

The success of this video has been such soon there may be a version in other languages so that it reaches a wider audience.

“Hopefully, we will have a Hindi version out soon and others will follow,” Koechlin told an Indian newspaper.

The video with almost 15,000 like and over 6,000 comments was made by comedy collective All India Bakchod or AIB. The group comprises of Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba, Rohan Joshi, Ashish Shakya.

“Every sexual assault case in India inspires a string of stupid and hateful remarks against women. This is our response to those remarks,” they say about ‘It’s your fault’.

In the video, Koechlin and VJ Juhi Pandey show a series of events where women are blamed for the rape – the way they dress, cook or simply exist.
