New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS) The government Tuesday said it has released over Rs.130 million for computerising the records of the Waqf Boards across the country.
Ninong Ering, minister of state for Minority Affairs, said over Rs.130 million has been released under the scheme launched in December 2009.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Ering said the main objective of the scheme was to streamline record keeping, registration of waqf boards, digitization for preservation of their records, tracking of legal cases and computerisation of the various functions of the state waqf boards.
Under the scheme, centralized computing facility has been set up in 25 states and union territories.
