Bollywood fans in Canada will get another chance to make it in the Hindi film industry, as OMNI TV announced a casting call for the second season of its original reality series Bollywood Star.

The six-part half-hour series, which follows hopeful actors in various challenges in Toronto and Mumbai, kicked off its first season earlier this year and saw Surrey’s Simran Sidhu take home the title of Canada’s next Bollywood Star and the grand prize of a role in a Bollywood film — which is still yet to be announced.

“It was clear from last season that Canada boasts an immense wealth of talent across all cultures and communities,” OMNI TV’s Paritosh Mehta said in a release. “OMNI Television has always celebrated the Bollywood film industry, and we look forward to once again offering viewers this life-changing opportunity and delivering a fresh new season of this captivating series.”

While the series’ first season saw auditions take place in both Vancouver and Toronto, this year OMNI TV is asking for auditions to be submit online at OMNITV.ca/bollywoodstar. Applicants are asked to submit a video in which they recite an acting scene and perform a dance routine. The casting call is currently open and production is scheduled to take place in October.

According to Bollywood Star’s Twitter account, Canadian filmmaker Richie Mehta will also be returning as a judge and mentor for season 2.
