Mumbai, Feb 27 (IANS) Popular TV cartoon character Chhota Bheem is ruling the digital space with nearly 300,000 downloads of a mobile game based on the character.
Launched by entertainment channel Pogo and Zapak Mobile Games, game “Chhota Bheem: Mice Mayhem” has topped charts on the android marketplace Google Play this month, officials from both companies said.
The mobile game has also consistently not only topped the Casual Games category but also maintained its position among top five overall games on Google’s android marketplace.
“Being ranked No.1 in India on Google Play reinforces the fact that there is an instant connect between children and Chhota Bheem,” said Chaitanya Prabhu, business head-India, Zapak Mobile Games.
“Chhota Bheem’s iconic symbolism among children in India has presented us with the opportunity to enthral children on the mobile platform,” said Troy Lobo, senior director network and content distribution, South Asia, Turner International India Pvt. Ltd.
The game, launched in July last year, receives nearly 18,000 downloads daily and is available across Blackberry, Nokia OVI and a few other platforms apart from Google Play.
