Beijing, Jan 18 (IANS) A Chinese man killed himself and injured eight others in an explosion Friday over a labour dispute he had with the company he used to work for, police said.
The incident took place in Guangzhou, capital of south China’s Guangdong province, Xinhua reported.
Police received a report of an explosion at a residential community around 4 p.m..
The man, surnamed Wang, had come Friday to demand payment from the company.
A company employee said Wang used to work as a webmaster in the company till March 2012, when he left the company due to a dispute with the management over payment.
Wang entered the company office around 2 p.m. with home-made explosives in a paper bag, and demanded compensation from the company, police said.
When company officials pushed him out of the office, the man ignited the explosives beside the elevator, killing himself on the spot and injuring eight others.
