Ghaziabad, Sep 8 (IANS) Rajnath Singh, Ghaziabad Member of Parliament (MP) and former president of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday demanded a judicial probe by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court of India into the allocation of coal blocks.
Talking to mediapersons in Ghaziabad, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said the CBI could not conduct a fair investigation into the coal scam where the prime minister’s name had figured. So the investigation, unless by a sitting judge of the apex court, would prove futile.
Talking about the Indian economy, the former BJP president said only BJP-ruled states were contributing to the Indian economy while Congress-ruled states were involved in corruption. Naming Madhya Pradesh, Rajnath Singh said that while Madhya Pradesh had recorded an 18 percent GDP growth, Congress-ruled states were on the marginal side. Unfortunately, because welfare expenditures were 10 times more than production expenditures, hence the state had turned into a deficit state which is a wrong sign in the way of achieving economic prosperity.
Talking about Uttar Pradesh, Rajnath Singh claimed the SP and BSP were two sides of the same coin. He added that during the Akhilesh government, the law and order situation had gone from bad to worst. To woo investors in the state, a conducive atmosphere of security, infrastructure and power would have to be provided, which was lacking here, he said.
