New Delhi, Nov 10 (IANS) A 21-year-old B.Com student of Delhi University committed suicide here by jumping from a building after a heated argument with his girlfriend Saturday morning, police said.
Abhishek, who hailed from Guwahati in Assam, jumped from third floor of his rented accommodation in north Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, around 9.30 a.m.
Abhishek was a third year B.Com student at the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). He succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
“A probe is on to find out the reason behind his extreme step and his girlfriend is being questioned,” said a police officer.
Some other students residing in the building informed that Abhishek’s girlfriend had come to meet him Saturday morning, said the officer.
“Over some issue she suddenly came out from Abhishek’s room and started walking down the staircase. Abhishek warned her to come back by saying if she did not stop he would jump from the building. But, she kept climbingdown. When she came out from the buildiing, he jumped from the third floor,” the officer added.
