ABDUCTION: Girl abducted by father to Pakistan will return to British mother

Atiya Anjum-Wilkinson has been found and is on her way back to her mother in Britain.

LONDON (IANS) — A six-year-old girl who was abducted to Pakistan by her father more than three years ago is now on her way home to her mother in Britain, according to reports.

Atiya Anjum-Wilkinson went missing in November 2009 after going to stay with her Pakistani father, Razwan Ali Anjum, Sky News reported.

The girl’s father, in his late 20s, took her to Pakistan and told her 32-year-old mother, Gemma Wilkinson, she would never see the child again.

The former insurance salesman said he was taking the girl to Southport. Instead he took her to Pakistan’s Lahore city.

Anjum is serving a prison sentence in Britain for refusing to reveal his daughter’s whereabouts despite a court order.

Sources told Sky News that Atiya has been located in Pakistan and is due to arrive back in Britain soon.

In November, Wilkinson from Greater Manchester made a fresh appeal for information on her daughter’s whereabouts.

Wilkinson’s on-off relationship with Anjum ended in 2008.

Anjum was handed a 12-month jail term by a court in April after he refused to reveal where his daughter was.
