Heritage status for Netaji’s ancestral house
Kolkata, Jan 22 (IANS) The West Bengal government has decided to accord a heritage status to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s ancestral house in South 24 Parganas district, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said Tuesday.
The government decision came on the eve of Netaji’s birth anniversary Wednesday.
“The government has decided to accord a heritage status to the ancestral house at Kodalia,” Banerjee said here.
She said the government might acquire the land if needed.
“We will also maintain the house properly,” she added.
