Sarabjit Singh, 22, is being held in Amritsar since the customs bust at Sri Guru Ram Das International airport on Tuesday night, according to a report in the Times of India.

According to police, Sarabjit Singh was scheduled to board a Jet Airways flight to Delhi, then connect to Toronto. The heroin, with an international market value of approximately $2 million, allegedly turned up in a hidden cavity of his bag during X-ray scanning.

He was working on behalf of a Canadian organized crime group, assistant customs commissioner P K Tikku claimed to the Times: “Sarabjit Singh is not innocent. He knew about the consignment and told us that he was to get thousands of dollars per kilogram of delivered heroin.”

A driver who took the accused to the airport from his village in Ghunachaur, Nawanshahr district, was reportedly also arrested.

Sarabjit Singh has a residence in Toronto, reports say.

Heroin is grown in large amounts in Afghanistan. Authorities fear that Afghanistan-India-Canada is become a newly favoured smuggling route into North America.

Ed, you keep posting here a lot. And I’ve realized you are biased against Punjabi folk. THAT’S TOTALLY OK, GUY! :) I’ve come to realize I have no problem with it. Do you know why?

Although you probably have value to your friends, your family, and your workmates, when it comes to making Canada the way you want, you have no value. No influence. No say in public policy. No power to effect change. No relevance.

Simply put, you don’t matter.

So go ahead. Be racist. Insult Punjabi folks. Or don’t. I literally don’t care which way you go. Say Tinkerbell, I don’t even know if I’m gonna bother with looking at your reply.

I mean, come on. What’s the worst you gonna do?

Jeff says:

Half of Richmond uses their Canadian passport for “insurance reasons”. It’s a joke. It demeans the rest of us as Canadian citizens.

But because Canadians take pride in their tolerance, we kowtow to people that bite the hand that feeds them. We need to get a backbone. Unfortunatley, it is probably too late as many minorities are now a powerful voting bloc.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN INSURANCE REASONS REASONS
