And the legend keeps growing.
One of Vancouver’s best-known chefs, Vikram Vij, the proprietor of Vij’s Restaurant at 11th and Granville, was the latest speaker to entertain a breakfast crowd of creative types at the most recent CreativeMornings speakers event.
Vij drew laughs with stories about his parents drawing questioning sniffs on the bus when they brought then-exotic smelling Indian dishes with them as part of their visits, and then garnered applause as he explained that opening a restaurant was never about the money for him, but rather about how to spread awareness of his cuisine and culture to the world.
CreativeMornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series started by Tina Roth Eiesenberg (swiss-miss.com) in NYC and is now in over 20 cities around the world. The Vancouver chapter of CreativeMornings is run by Mark Busse (@MarkBusse) and his dedicated team of volunteers.
Each event is free of charge, and includes a 20-minute talk, followed by a group discussion and Q&A.
