A valet at a five-star hotel in New Delhi crashed and virtually totalled a Lamborghini Gallardo, causing more than $340,000US in damages, according to the Times of India.

The car arrived at India’s Le Meridien Hotel around 2:30 p.m. July 3 and according to the Times of India, CCTV footage of the incident shows the Lamborghini suddenly zooming off from the valet stand, causing a worker to jump out of the car’s path as it drove through a parked car, which was sent flying across the driveway, before the supercar finally slammed to a halt when it crashed into a concrete wall.

The driver was admitted to hospital for his injuries and released later that day.

The Times of India published photos of the white Lamborghini following the crash that show its front end completely crumpled.

According to a friend of the car’s owner, the car was driven to the hotel by a family member and the damage is estimated at about $342,000US.

A police report has been filed against the hotel and driver, but the hotel refused to accept responsibility, claiming it’s the fault of the valet driver, reported the Times of India.

According to Britain’s Daily Mail, the Lamborghini Gallardo can reach speeds of 320 kilometres per hour and while it sells in Europe for about $250,000US, imported cars are normally double the price in India.
