Mississauga’s Annu Gaidhu was crowned Miss India-Canada at the 24th annual pageant in Toronto Saturday evening.

The 23-year-old yoga instructor and aspiring child and youth worker competed against 15 other South Asian women from across Canada at the International Plaza Hotel.

According to Miss India-Canada’s website, Gaidhu is Toronto’s youngest certified yoga instructor and established her own practice called Bliss Yoga with Annu.

Among the 16 contestants, only one woman, Kamloops’ Roopam Plawn, represented B.C.
