The one-legged dancer who took India by storm after a stint on India’s Got Talent has accused her newly wed husband of lying about his family and personal information and marrying her for money, Britain’s Daily Mail reported on Friday.

The 28-year-old dancer from Punjab told the British tabloid “the truth came out” only three days into her marriage to Yash Makkar, who was her trainer at the gym.

“When my mother Charanjeet Kaur asked Yash to send his parents for talks, he said they live in England and will not give their consent for the marriage,” Ghumman said. ”But the truth came out within three days of marriage when Yash took me to a rented house in Mohali. I came to know that his parents live in Chandigarh only.”

“They started asking about the property and the money I earned from doing television shows.”

Ghumman also alleged that he took about $33,000 US from her, claiming he needed to “repay his father’s debt.” She further alleged that she’d been cheated, harassed and tortured by Makkar.

“He also demanded Rs 6 lakh ($10,000US). When I refused, he openly said that he married an amputee for money, which shattered me,” Ghumman told the Daily Mail, adding that he also lied about his age, having said he was 27-years-old, but was really 21. “I used to tell people that disability cannot stop one from winning the world. I never knew that one day the man whom I married will address me as langdi (amputee).”

Ghumman has also taken to her Facebook page to post about her “fraud husband.”
