The one-legged dancer who’s taken India by storm after a stint on India’s Got Talent, has landed her fairy tale ending.

Shubh Kaur Ghumman, the 27-year-old runner up for the reality TV talent series, has found love and got married in Chandigarh earlier this month, according to Britain’s Daily Mail.

In a private ceremony before about 50 guests, Ghumman married the man she credits for her incredible recovery and ability to dance since her leg was amputated four years ago – her gym trainer, Yash Makkar, the British tabloid reported.

“It was like a dream come true, it was unbelievable. I always wondered who would want to marry me with one leg. I just couldn’t believe I was getting married,” Ghumman told the Daily Mail.

It was after a motorbike accident in 2009 and horrible healthcare blunders at hospitals in India that Ghumman was left with no other choice but to remove her left leg. But she refused to let her disability debilitate her, so she pursued her passion for dance.

According to the Daily Mail, workouts at the gym played a major part in her recovery and that’s how she met Makkar, who ended up helping her build strength and improve her dancing abilities.

The proposal came as a surprise to Ghumman when Makkar popped the question while she was in Punjab filming a movie based on her life, the British tabloid reported.

“I was working out at the gym when Yash suddenly came over to me and got down on one knee,” Ghumman said. “Before I could react, he took out a silver ring from his pocket. I could not believe he was proposing to me. It was like a dream come true as I had a huge crush on him.”

“He is a wonderful human being, very loving and caring. He’s never made me feel like I’m disabled. He walks with me proudly and encourages my talent.”

“He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, I couldn’t ask for anything else. He is the love of my life, I feel complete now.”
