Kolkata, Nov 22 (IANS) Arvind Kejriwal’s party, to be formally launched next week, will have a “code of conduct” for its leaders, besides a lokpal, to deal with corruption within the organisation, said activist Yogendra Yadav Thursday.
“Within the party there will be a lokpal to check corruption. Any member of the party and even an outsider can complain against any leader of the party for corruption,” Yadav told reporters here.
Kejriwal’s yet−unnamed party is slated to be launched Nov 26.
“The lokpal will judge the corruption allegations and then give its verdicts. There will also be a code of conduct for party leaders. More than one member of a family will not be allowed to hold party posts,” said Yadav, a political analyst and now a part of Kejriwal’s team.
He said a provision was made in the party rules that selection of candidates to contest polls will be done by local workers, and not by the party chief.
The new party will contest Lok Sabha elections slated in 2014.
Yadav was speaking to newspersons on the sidelines of a debate ‘Challenges and Prospects of Alternative Politics’.
For women, we will have reservation in the party, he informed.
The party’s constitution was “heavily inspired” by the Indian constitution, Yadav added.
