New Delhi, Jan 7 (IANS) The Congress Monday appointed former union ministers S.M. Krishna and Murli Deora as permanent invitees to the party’s highest policy-making body, the Congress Working Committee.
The announcement was made by party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.
Krishna, a former chief minister of Karnataka, is expected to play a major role with the state scheduled to go in for assembly elections later this year.
Deora, from Maharashtra, has been included in order to strengthen the party affairs in the state, especially after the death of strongman Vilasrao Deshmukh.
The appointments come ahead of the Congress ‘Chintan Shivir’ to be held at Jaipur from Jan 18 to 20.
