A number of volunteers, including David Gadhia, David Sidoo and their families braved Saturday’s rain and sleet at Oppenheimer Park so they could help those less fortunate keep warm this winter.
“The issues of homelessness and poverty should be major concerns for everyone in British Columbia,” ASAP president Jindy Bhalla said in a release. “These problems need to be addressed now before they get any worse.”
ASAP’s goal is to raise awareness and make a difference in the lives of the nearly 2,300 homeless people in Vancouver.
While the association appreciates donations, their main goal is to encourage South Asian professionals to get involved and give back to the community.
