Radio Punjab talk show host and Surrey realtor Kuljeet Kaur will be running as the B.C. Liberal candidate in Surrey-Whalley, the party announced Friday.
“I am actively involved in the Surrey community, and I want to help Premier Christy Clark build on her positive vision for Surrey and British Columbia,” Kaur said in a release. “We have an outstanding team of new candidates in Surrey to complement MLAs Stephanie Cadieux and Gordon Hogg … I am looking forward to working with (them) as well as new candidates Peter Fassbender, Amrik Virk and Sukhminder Virk to ensure Surrey is well represented by Today’s B.C. Liberals.”
Kaur has lived in Surrey for the last 18 years and is the former vice president of the Punjabi Press Club of B.C. and vice president of the Oriental Language Services Society.
Kaur has been awarded by the Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society for her community involvement and is known as a strong advocate for female empowerment within the South Asian community.
Last week the B.C. Liberals also announced Amrik Virk will run in Surrey-Tynehead and Gurjit Dhillon in Vancouver-Kingsway.
