Sukhu acting chief of Himachal Congress
New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS) Former Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will officiate as state unit chief until a successor to Virbhardra Singh is appointed, the Congress said Tuesday.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi has accepted resignation of Virbhadra Singh as president of the state unit and nominated Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to officiate as PCC president till the permanent appointment of PCC president, said a party release here.
Virbhadra Singh quit after taking over as chief minister.
Party sources said Sukhu is not considered a Virbhadra Singh loyalist.
