Wepon smuggling bid into Saudi Arabia foiled

Riyadh, Nov 27 (IANS) Saudi border guards have foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons and ammunition into the country, reported Saudi News Agency Monday.

While all the weapons and ammunition were confiscated, traffickers who traded fire with the border guards, managed to escape, Xinhua reported.

Saudi Arabia announced earlier this month the arrest of 30 smugglers in the border province of Asir in last three months.
