Australia captain Michael Clarke wins toss, to bat 1st against Sri Lanka in 1st test

HOBART, Australia — Australia has won the toss and will bat first at Bellerive Oval in the first of three cricket tests against Sri Lanka.
Australia captain Michael Clarke is hoping to build a commanding total to help maintain his side’s decade-long dominance over the tourists.
Australia lost a three-match series against top-ranked South Africa 1-0 earlier this month and has replaced retired great Ricky Ponting at No. 3 with Phil Hughes for this match.
Sri Lanka has never won a test in Australia and has won only two away from home in the past five years.
