Canada’s junior national field hockey team to play for 15th place at Junior World Cup in India

ROYAL CITY RECORD

New Westminster — Canada’s junior national field hockey team, based out of Vancouver, lost to Spain at the Junior World Cup in New Delhi, India on Thursday.

Gabriel Garcia-Ho of New Westminster scored for the team on a break down the left side, faking inside and then beating the Spanish keeper on the backhand. Trailing 3-1, Brenden Bissett, also of New Westminster, also scored in the 64th minute.

Canada is scheduled to play Egypt for 15th place at the junior worlds.

The team left for India Dec. 1 to compete in the tournament which started Dec. 6 and runs until Dec. 16.
