Mohali, Jan 23 (IANS) Former England captain Paul Collingwood is getting the jitters thinking of going to blustery, snowy Dharamsala for the fifth and final One-Day International (ODI) between India and England Sunday.
The wisdom of holding the game at the height of the winter in the Himachal town, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, was questioned. The area has heavy snowfall around this time and only last week it snowed.
There is concern whether it would be prudent to go through with the game with the minimum temperature dropping to sub-zero levels.
“Think I’ll need my snow suit for Dharamashala #freezing #IndvEng,” tweeted Collingwood, who is here as ESPN-Star Sports TV expert.
“Shopping trip needed before Dharmasala then! #snowcricket” Might try to do the pitch report with an ice pick,” joked the 36-year-old.
Collingwood tweeted Wednesday morning before the fourth ODI: “It was a tad nippy this morning I have to say, should have packed my Barbour jacket #underclubbed #IndvEng”
The HPCA Stadium, at 1,500 metres above sea level, is hosting its first ever international cricket match Sunday.
