AHMEDABAD, India — Opener Nick Compton notched his second half-century of the match Saturday as England reached 118-0 in its second innings after taking a 188-run first-innings lead over Haryana on the third day of a four-day practice game ahead of its test series in India.
Compton scored an unbeaten 54, following his first-innings knock of 74. Trott was not out on 61 after being promoted to opener with captain Alastair Cook holding himself back. Compton has so far struck seven fours and Trott 10 fours as England leads by 306 runs with all 10 second-innings wickets intact.
Earlier, opener Rahul Dewan carried Haryana, his 144 not out coming off 320 balls with 17 fours.
