London, Nov 10 (IANS/RIA Novosti) World No. 1 Novak Djokovic secured a straight-sets win over Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic and a spot in the semifinal of the ATP Tour Finals here.
The Serbian star defeated Berdych in his second match Friday of the round robin stage of the $8.85 million season-ending event for.
Last year’s semi-finalist Berdych, ranked sixth in the world, crashed out of the tournament after winning only one match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Djokovic had to survive three set points in the second set to grab a 6-2, 7-6 victory improving his head-to-head record to 11-1 and continuing a run of beating Berdych at the Tour Finals every year since 2010.
Berdych ends his season on a career-high ranking of No. 6 after winning two ATP titles.
