Fast bowling has been the difference: Misbah

New Delhi, Jan 5 (IANS) Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq Saturday praised his bowlers’ performance against India in the ongoing three-match series and said the pacers had been the difference between the two sides.

Pakistan lead the series 2-0 and for the first time have a chance to whitewash India 3-0 in their own backyard when the two sides meet in the third and final ODI here Sunday.

“We are playing good cricket and have performed well in all departments. Spin has always been strong but in this series our fast bowlers have made all the difference,” Misbah told reporters here at the Ferozeshah Kotla.

“We are not looking at creating at any history. We will go into the match to win and if that creates a record well in good.”

Talking about making changes to the side in the dead rubber, Misbah said that only necessary changes would be made.

“If we make any changes, it will be only to strengthen the team not just for the sake of it.”

Misbah didn’t put any emphasis on playing in the cold conditions prevailing in Delhi.

“It will be a little different for our players after playing in Chennai and Kolkata but before coming here we practiced in Lahore and the conditions here are pretty similar to there,” said the middle-order batsman.

Misbah attributed his team’s impressive performance to hard work before the start of a series.

“We have done well in the past few series and that has all come down to preparing well before the start of the series and that has been one of the biggest reasons for our success,” said Misbah.

In a parting shot, Misbah said that it would be nice if India came to Pakistan to play.
