Hasan hits century on debut to guide Bangladesh to 365-8 against West Indies in 2nd test

KHULNA, Bangladesh — Lower order batsman Abul Hasan hit a century on his debut to propel Bangladesh to 365-8 at stumps Wednesday on the first day of the second cricket test against West Indies.
Hasan’s century off 108 runs included 13 boundaries and three sixes at Sheikh Abu Naser Divisional Stadium. He became only the second test player in cricket history to hit a century as No. 10 batsman.
Hasan figured in a 172-run unbeaten ninth wicket stand with another lower order batsman, Mahmudullah Riad (72). Riad hit nine boundaries.
The pair put the hosts in a strong position after Bangladesh lost two quick wickets after tea, plunging to 193-8.
Fidel Edwards took five wickets for 81 for West Indies.
