New Delhi, Feb 22 (IANS) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has no plans to shift the India-Australia Test at Hyderabad despite Thursday’s bomb blasts in the Andhra Pradesh capital.
Senior BCCI official and IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla said adequate security will be provided to the players for the game beginning March 2. It will be second Test of the four-match series.
“After the BCCI president spoke to me, I spoke to union home secretary, who was in Hyderabad and had discussion with the chief minister and officials of state government. After that he appraised me that adequate security will be provided to the players as well as the spectators. So Test match should not be shifted out of Hyderabad,” Shukla told reporters outside parliament.
The multiple bombings in Hyderabad resulted in 16 deaths.
