Karnataka on top in CK Nayudu Trophy

Bangalore, Nov 11 (IANS) Karnataka took a 182-run lead and looked set for victory against Himachal Pradesh who were 214 for six at close of play on the third day of the CK Nayudu Elite A match here Sunday.

Overnight 342 for 4, Karnataka pressed on to finish on 476 in their first innings with skipper Karun Nair eventually making 156 (231b, 17×4, 5×6) while No.8 batsman K Gautham chipped in with 53 (56b, 5×4, 3×6).

In their second knock, Himachal were reduced to 214 for six despite fighting knocks by NR Gangta (48) and KJ Singh (45) as opener HS Sharath scalped three wickets and leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal grabbed two.
