Manipal, Dec 22 (IANS) Mangalore University entered the third round of the South Zone Inter-University cricket tournament with a convincing five-wicket win over Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam at the NIT-K, Surathkal Ground here Saturday.
Pawan Gokhale and Nishit Raj helped Mangalore contain Ambedkar to just 167 in 45.5 overs. They finished with impressive figures of five for 28 and three for thirty two.

At MIT: JNTU Anantpur beat KLE Belgaum by nine wickets. KLE Belgaum 89 all out in 31.5 overs (Iqbal 25, Ishaq 21; D Hari 2-7, Chakri 3-7, Vinod 2-5) vs JNTU 92 for one in 19.2 overs (Keshav Kumar 60 not out, Prathush 10 not out).
At Manipal University Ground 1: Cochin University of Science and Tech, Kochi beat KUVEMPU, Shivamogga by 18 runs. Cochin 164 all out in 41.3 overs (Arjun 72, R Rasheed 26; Anees-ul-Haq 5-13, Vijay S 3-18) vs KUVEMPU, Shivamogga 146 for nine in 45 overs (Aneef 48 not out, G. Bhargav 33; Vaishnav 4-26, Sawas 2-18, Krishna Kumar 2-25).
At Manipal University Ground 2: University of Calicut beat MSU Tirunelveli by 139 runs. Calicut 181 all out in 50 overs (Fousad K 21, Vyshak Chandran 37, Sreejith PJ 30, Akhil K Das 30; M Satish Kumar 2-34, M Amritham 2-39) vs MSU Tirunelveli 42 all out in 22.1 overs (R Isravel 10; Nisham 5-20, Ramesh 4-14.
At NIT-K Surathkal Ground 1: Mangalore University beat Dr Ambedkar University Srikakulam by five wickets. Dr Ambedkar 167 in 45.5 overs (Rajshekhar 41, Srinivas 68, Abdullah 21; Pawan Gokhale 5-28, Nishit Raj 3-32) vs Mangalore 170 for five in 24.4 overs (Ashren 37, Nishith Raj 30, Naveen MG 33, Bharath Duri 40, Mahesh Shenoy 23; Rajshekhar 3-39).
