Melbourne Renegades to host first Big Bash semi
Melbourne, Jan 8 (IANS) Cricket Australia (CA) Tuesday confirmed that the Melbourne Renegades will host the first semi-final of the Twenty20 Big Bash League (BBL) at the Etihad Stadium Jan 15.
With the Renegades guaranteed to finish on top of the Big Bash team standings, their opponent (the team that finishes fourth) will be decided after the final match of the season between the Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat Saturday night. The Renegades are the only team to have won all matches at home this season.
The venue for the second last-four match will be confirmed after the Hurricanes/Heat match. It will be held Jan 16.
The winners of the semi-finals will not only move into the final, to be held Jan 19, but will also qualify for the 2013 Champions League Twenty20 tournament.
