Agra, Nov 10 (IANS) The city of the Taj Mahal will host one of India’s biggest marathons February-end which will see over 50,000 participants, an Uttar Pradesh minister said Saturday here while unveiling the event’s logo.
The Taj Marathon 2013 would carry prize money of Rs.2 crore, Transport Minister Aridaman Singh said at a press conference here.
Hockey Olympian Jagvir Singh, who is from Agra, said: “It would be an event to remember and a great opportunity for Agra to showcase what heritage and wonders the city has to offer.”
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav would be present at the opening ceremony.
Ashok Jain, a key member of the organising committee, told IANS that sports management company Sports Solutions is promoting and planning the event.
