New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS) Samad Fallah took a fifer as Delhi fell three runs short of Maharashtra’s first innings total of 196 on day two of their Ranji Trophy Group B cricket match at the Roshanara Club Ground here Sunday.
Delhi, resuming at 60 for three, were bowled out for 193 in 77 overs. Vaibhav Rawal top-scored for the home team with 65 while Mithun Manhas chipped in with 28.
Besides an impressive effort from left-arm medium pacer Fallah, Nikti Dhumal struck thrice for Maharashtra. The visitors were three for no loss in their second innings.
In Mysore, Karnataka took firm grip on their Group B game against Vidharbha as the hosts decalred at 619 for eight in their first innings with CM. Gautham (257) top scoring. The visitors replied with 48 for no loss at close of play.
Overnight 308 for two, Gautham, who was batting on 129, carried on in the company of K.L. Rahul (157) before their third wicket partnership that had realised 272 runs, ended.
However, Vidarbha’s leather hunt continued as Manish Pandey (53) and Stuart Binny (85) joined the run feast along with Gautham before Karnataka declared their innings at the tea interval.
