KHULNA, Bangladesh — Marlon Samuels smashed an unbeaten century and Darren Bravo added 85 not out Thursday to help West Indies cruise to 241-2 to trail Bangladesh by 146 runs by stumps on the second day of the second and final test.
Samuels hit 13 boundaries and a six in 109 from 231 balls. He and Bravo put on an unbeaten 198-run partnership for the third wicket as Bangladesh struggled throughout against the visitors.
Following a sluggish start, West Indies reached 146-2 by tea and continued to pound Bangladesh until stumps. The visitors had earlier slumped to 62-2 at lunch in response to Bangladesh’s 387 after the hosts resumed on 365-8.
Fidel Edwards claimed 6-70 and captain Darren Sammy had 3-74.
West Indies won the first test by 77 runs last week.
