Taylor approaches century as New Zealand reach 175-2 at tea in 2nd test vs. Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — Ross Taylor was approaching his eighth test century as he and Kane Willamson added an unbroken 161-run partnership for the third wicket to take New Zealand to 175-2 at tea on the opening day of the second cricket test against Sri Lanka on Sunday.
The pair came together when the Kiwis were in trouble with two down for 14 after captain Taylor won the toss and elected to bat at P. Sara Oval.
Taylor was unbeaten on 93 from 174 balls with seven boundaries. Williamson was 73 not out in 177 balls and had seven boundaries.
Seamer Nuwan Kulasekara returned 1-37.
