SYDNEY, Australia — Australia wicketkeeper Matthew Wade completed his second test century Saturday to put his team firmly in charge on day three of the third and final test against Sri Lanka.
Wade added 55 to his overnight score for an unbeaten 102 before Australia declared at 432-9 for a first-innings lead of 138.
Australia resumed on 342-6 and stretched its lead with Wade and Peter Siddle adding another 42 to their seventh-wicket stand before Siddle was caught behind by Dinesh Chandimal off Nuwan Pradeep for 38.
Rangana Herath trapped Mitchell Starc (2) leg before wicket and bowled Nathan Lyon for 4 but Wade and Jackson Bird (6 not out) put on 39 for the final wicket to take the game further away from Sri Lanka, which trails 2-0 in the series.
