Beijing, March 7 (IANS) The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Wednesday announced a multi-year agreement with Megton Electronic Lighting Co. Ltd., a Chinese LED tennis court and general sports facility lighting company.
Through the partnership, Megton will become the official lighting system partner for the WTA in the Asia Pacific region, reports Xinhua.
The deal marks the fourth agreement signed by the WTA in the region in the past two years, following partnerships with Jetstar, Peak and California Products.
“The WTA’s continued growth and success in the Asia-Pacific region is driven by great partnerships with industry leaders such as Megton,” said WTA chairman and CEO Stacey Allaster here. “Megton is committed to both growing the sport of women’s tennis in China and beyond through their best-in-class and environmentally friendly lighting products.”
“Partnering with the WTA provides Megton with a perfect platform to showcase our products to the world,” said Liu Dongyu, chairman of Megton.
“Megton brings to the sport the concept of healthy, environment- friendly and energy-saving sports lighting. As a pioneer in the Asia Pacific region, Megton implements LED technology which is capable of saving 50-percent on energy usage. Such a new lighting system has a promising future both in China and around the world.”
